Alcohol & Drug Awareness Accredited Training Course

This subsidized Alcohol & Drugs Awareness training course is useful for those wishing to work in the field of substance misuse or for those concerned about an individual who is or may be using legal and illegal substances, including legal highs. The course will cover:

  • What to do if someone you know or come into contact with has a drug or alcohol problem.
  • Identifying the signs of substance use and misuse.
  • Supporting someone with a drugs problem and referral routes to treatment for individuals with a drugs or alcohol problem. All learner will receive a qualification on completion of the course.

When: 15th February, 2016 from 9 to 5

Where: Ham Hill Education Centre, Somerset, TA14 6RW

Cost: £50, including free lunch and refreshments.
There are some free places for individuals who are unemployed or on a low-wage. Proof of benefits will be required.

Forest School First Aid Training and Paediatric First Aid Training Combined

2 day course, ITC First Aid Ltd Accredited

This 2 day, subsidized training will cover the practical skills needed by those who work with children age 1 year and above. It will combine Forest School first aid with a full Paediatric qualification as well and, the best bit, it doesn't cost any more money! This course provides the confidence and knowledge to deal with comprehensive life-saving first aid emergencies in the outdoor environment, including first aid for adult helpers. The course content and context is totally integrated with the Forest School ethos and rationale.

When: 15 & 16 March, 2016, 9am to 6pm

Where: Ham Hill Education Centre, Somerset, TA14 6RW

Cost: £125 for 2 days, including free lunch and refreshments

Equality and Diversity Level 1 Ascentis Accredited Course

What challenges are you or your organisation facing in attracting a diversity of people? What are the effects on individuals, organisations and communities of discrimination? Do you need to deepen your understanding of equality and diversity within the current climate?

This accredited course, also a Continued Professional Development opportunity, will give you an understanding of your rights and responsibilities in relation to equality and diversity as individuals and organisations. It will be delivered interactively, using group discussions and problem-solving approaches linked to your own needs.

When: 12 April, 2016. 9am to 5pm

Family Learning

We can provide exciting family learning sessions for play groups, schools, nurseries and children’s centres. We encourage parents and carers to take an active part in the activities with their child, helping them to understand the extent to which their child learns through play and real experiences rather than digital ones. We are currently delivering the following sessions:

Pupil Referral Units

We have worked extensively with students from Pupil Referral Units. We can tailor outdoor programmes to the students’ needs- improving their self confidence and social skills and enabling achievement. Some of our past students have been successful in gaining apt awards Step Up qualifications and John Muir Awards.
